Hello sweety, would you like to drink a cup of coffee with me at Starfucks?
HOW CHINESE POEPLE TRANSLATE STARBUCKS IN CHINGLISH EPIC FAIL 14 APRIL 2010
Many laowai (foreign poeple) in Chinese have often been shocked by those stores and restaurants banner which copy names and logos of famous brands. Besides, a lot of tourist noticeboard are also translated with a random English, so we start to believe they do that on purpose.
Here is an example of what sounds Starbucks the famous U.S. coffee chain in Chinglish (Mix of Chinese and English ). You will no longer say Starbucks, but Starfucks which sounds so romantic
Notice the small spelling error that goes completely unnoticed for coffee.
They only need to replace a letter (one of the 26 letters of the alphabet) to not infringe copyrightand they have changed the wrong one EPIC FAIL.
